• Located on the quiet end of a very private cul de sac, surrounded by national forest with only one direct neighbor, our 1970s treehouse features floor-to-ceiling, mid-century modern style windows framing endless views of native pine trees, blue jays and mountain vistas in the distance.

Within, towering A-frame style wood ceilings bring the warmth and comfort of a classic mountain home to life, anchored by a stone-clad, wood-burning fireplace that soars from floor to ceiling.

  • We comfortably sleep eight people with two private bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a spacious loft featuring two full beds and a queen-sized sleeper sofa.

We have a cozy, inviting and well-appointed kitchen flooded with natural light, and a large deck with fire pit, BBQ, and Adirondack chairs for lounging. Our living and dining area (seats eight) are built around the views and the fireplace. Every way you look, beauty abounds.

And our loft is home to a custom, oversized sectional for movie watching and Netflix scrolling, when the mood strikes… as it always does.

FAQs

  • Mile End House accommodates up to 8 people, including children. Please see the Features page for details.

  • Yes, we are dog lovers and do allow dogs (no other animals, please) with a pet deposit and additional cleaning fee. All dogs must be house-trained and well behaved and any damage will be subject to a fee.

  • Yes, we have kids and our cabin is designed as a family getaway. It is equipped with some basics for babies, though it is not babyproofed, and we have a bathtub for convenient bathing of little ones. Our kids love the loft for chilling, movie watching and reading and join us on hikes, lake walks and fun times in the village.

  • The cabin has stairs from street level down to the front entrance and again inside to the loft area on the second level. We do not consider it wheelchair accessible.

  • Our cabin is approximately one mile from the lake. It’s a lovely walk through a wooded residential area with uphills in both directions. Otherwise, you can easily drive to the village or any of the lake’s access points within minutes. Please see our The Lake page for details on lake access for short-term rental guests.

  • The cabin is not equipped with EV chargers at this time.

  • You name it. Hiking, lake life, dining, shopping, skiing/snowboarding, SkyPark at Santa’s Village, farmer’s markets, festivals, and more. Upon booking, we’ll share our curated guide to our favorite everything.
