THE LAKE
When we first stumbled upon Lake Arrowhead, it was winter. A light snow fell around our rental cabin and we took our kids into the village for hot chocolate and we spent night after night by a roaring fire, not wanting to leave.
When we went back, it became home. We slowly started to learn more about this special community and its beautiful landscape and felt an immediate connection to the idea of returning to our childhood experiences with the four seasons…just a few hours away.
Since then, we’ve continued to explore Lake Arrowhead as an ideal getaway just a few hours from all of Southern California. It has all the elements of a mountain town that we love: small town charm, history, and enough amenities and attractions to keep the whole family engaged.
You can read more about the area and its history here. The lake and its trails are approximately one mile from the cabin. You can walk there, but it’s uphill at various spots. Arrowhead Lake Association has strict parameters for short term renters and lake access – you can see the guidelines and requirements here.
Upon booking, we’ll share our guide to the area, including our favorite recommendations for dining, shopping, activities, skiing/snowboarding, dog parks, and more.
But you’re also welcome to just stay put by the fire. We often do. And it’s always just right.
